Project 1915
Tracing Our Roots. Telling Our Story.
What is Project 1915?
Project 1915 is a global initiative to document and preserve Armenian family histories. By collecting memories of where families came from, where they fled, and where they are today, we’re building an interactive map of the Armenian Highlands and beyond.
We invite community members to submit names, locations, stories, and any remembered details.
These submissions will be transformed into an interactive digital map where users can:
Explore ancestral towns
Trace migration paths
Read personal family stories pinned directly to specific locations
The result is a living archive of survival, displacement, and resilience—a tribute to those who came before us, and a resource for generations to come.
How it works
1.
Talk To Your Family.
Ask your parents, grandparents, or relatives about your family’s origins—towns, villages, migration paths, and where they are today.
2.
Complete the form.
Enter the information you’ve gathered. Include names, hometowns, migration routes, and any memories, photos, or stories you wish to share.
3.
Submit & Preserve.
Your submission becomes part of a growing, interactive archive that maps Armenian heritage across time and place.
Data Protection & Consent
We are fully compliant with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
All personal data is securely stored.
Stories are only published with informed consent.
You may request edits or removal at any time.
We take your trust seriously and are committed to ethical and transparent use of all submitted information.
Who is this for?
We’re calling on young members of the Armenian diaspora to help document family histories before they fade.
Whether you're recording a grandparent’s memories or piecing together a migration story, you are the bridge between past and future.
This is your chance to listen, learn, and ensure your family's story is remembered—and seen—by generations to come.
